Governor's Message
This is an important meeting for the Kansas Society. The members of our Nomination Committee have done their very best but they have been unable to identify members willing to serve in three (3) of the 10 offices of the Board of Assistants for the Kansas Society.
Several current board members expressed their desire to not serve another term which made the work of this committee most difficult.
The Nomination Committee’s report on page 8 reflects that we have no candidates for the offices of
For the Kansas Society to continue to function as we have, it is of importance that all members consider accepting a nomination for one of these offices. If you would be willing to do this, please notify a member of the Nomination Committee, our current officers or myself before our November meeting in Topeka.
I would like to encourage all members in the Kansas Society to attend our fall luncheon in Topeka, Sunday, November 16, 2008.
We will be meeting at the Holiday Inn, Topeka-West located at 605 SW Fairlawn Road. You will find general instructions on page 7 to assist you in locating our meeting place and a registration form for your use in submitting your reservations.
Bring a prospective member or guest if you can! Our luncheon will begin at 12 noon, but plan to arrive by 11:30 a.m. to allow time to register and for greeting fellow Mayflower passengers before our luncheon begins.
For those members interested, there will be a number of Mayflower books for sale at our meeting. These books are listed on page 3 of this newsletter.
