The Kansas Society of Mayflower Descendants
Goal $15,000
Scholarship Chairman
Philip C. Barbour
The Kansas Society of Mayflower Descendants has not reached the initial goal of $15,000. Donations since the last meeting has raised the fund to just under $13,000 plus donations from the many Mayflower books that were donated to the Society by the estate of "Dottie" diZerga.
We are hopeful that we can generate sufficient funds to make it possible for to announce a Scholarship competition for a high school senior.
Four (4) levels of recognition of donors were established:
Able Seaman $1.00 and above
1st Mate $1,000 and above
Captain $2,000 and above
Governor $3,000 and above
Members who contribute to the Scholarship Fund receive a handsome certificate lettered with their name and level of donation.
Thus far, contributions have been received primarily from those members who can attend meetings of the Kansas Society, but the Kansas Society Board of Assistants would like to ask ALL members to consider making a contribution to the Scholarship Fund. Everyone is invited to participate in helping us achieve our goal of $15,000 for the scholarship fund.
Please make your check payable to the "Kansas Society of Mayflower Descendant Scholarship Fund" and mail it to our Treasurer, Janet K. Kelley - 8319 Sagamore Road - Leawood KS 66206-1543.
